In the heart of Cognac, the city, in the heart of cognac vineyards, so cute small gardens have quietly found their place. I have been lucky to visit two of them. Thank so much again to theirs owners so welcoming and friendly with those of are found of gardens. Let us begin by François , his small paradise and his sunny smile.
He’s just amazing, and it’s hard to believe him when he tells us that he’s not a gardener… just a garden-lover. In a very small square space, he has achieved to create several distinct environments. At first glance, we could imagine that the visit will be a short one. It would be a shame as we need time to discover so fine details, tricks and tips, and learn so much from François.
How to collect the rain water falling on the roofs of his neighbours, create a closed circuit watering, feed a small pond, build small houses for birds and where settle them, use recycled natural materials to set up small discret composter devices. Like an horizontal sundial, several small tubes set in the lawn allow to change the parasol without any effort, according to the race of the sun in the sky. Ingenious and unseen.
Finally, we could spend a lot of time : so much to see, so much to learn. No doubt that if François wants to be a professional gardener, he would have a lot of work to do at once.
